SIRIUS Mobile Video in the Works
Comments recently made by SIRIUS CEO Mel Karmazin point to a late-year release date of in-car satellite video broadcasting. Karmazin says that deals are close to being done with television providers that will sure up available television content for automobile receivers.
The idea (as it always is with automotive video equipment) is to keep your kids quiet, so I would venture to guess that the earliest content providers at least will be largely oriented towards children (think Disney and Nickelodeon). Not many details have come out, but SIRIUS has been adamant in saying that available programming will be current and not DVD-like.
Thanks to Orbitcast for the scoop.
