In Addition to Four New Receivers, SIRIUS Announces the Release of the Conductor
According to a report from Gizmodo, SIRIUS will be releasing four new receivers, along with a device intended for compatibility with your home stereo.
The top of the line receiver (expected to cost around $120) is called the Starmate 4, the most highly-anticipated feature of which is its 44 minute replay capability (dubbed “time-shifting”). The next step down in receivers are the Sportster 3 and the Starmate 3, which do not offer the time-shifting feature but do offer slim-design profiles. The low-end model of SIRIUS’ new releases is the Stratus, which comes with nothing but the basics, but at the tiny price of $60.
Perhaps the most exciting new piece of equipment, however, is the SIRIUS Conductor, which allows you to interface with your home entertainment system and comes with a universal remote that will not only control these other devices but also has an LCD display that allows you to see the artist, song title, and station you are listening to. According to Cnet, the Conductor will most likely sell for only $150.
All of these items are expected to be available this fall.
