Life ain’t easy for terrestrial stations post-Stern
Boston-based blogger Tell Him Fred isn’t happy with David Lee Roth, who replaced Howard Stern after the radio mega-star moved to satellite radio outlet Sirius at the beginning of this year. Tell Him Fred guesses that the stations that carry Roth aren’t too happy with the ex-rocker, either:
I think WBCN [which used to carry Stern in Boston] is worried, and they should be. I don’t want to make a prediction here, but I think Roth’s days are numbered. In fact, he’s not on the radio right now. He’s on “vacation.†The only reason I’m putting quotes around the word vacation is that in radio, vacation often means “you’re fired.â€Â
If WBCN switches away from Roth, I would be thrilled. It would make my commute in the morning so much more enjoyable.
