Know Your Satellite Radio Receiver Pt. 3: Sirius Sportster Replay

Hi everybody, and welcome to part 3 in our series on satellite radio receivers. We’ve covered a portable unit and a home unit so far. Next up as a car unit: the Sirius Sportster Replay.

The Replay is an upgrade from the original Sirius Sportster. It is a car unit with a built in FM transmitter, and can broadcast to any FM radio. What improvements have been made over the old sportster?

1) More attractive, blue screen instead of yellow, difficult-to-read screen. Comes in handy especially when driving.

2) Replay. Duh. The replay buffer feature allows you to rewind up to 44 minutes of material in case you missed your favorite song or an important bit of talk radio. Can terrestrial radio do that?

Some people have complained about difficulty installing the unit, but I have experienced no such problems.
