Warning, this article is biased toward DirecTV, but I imagine most everything applies to DISH Network as well. Article also includes a link to the history of DirecTV for those interested in making a buying decision or for those who are just curious.
Both satellite companies provide good service, comparable to one another in almost every respect. Evidence of this can be found in this awful article here, which in no way will help you make an informed buying decision. My advice to you is to talk to vendors and research on your own to find which service offers the channels that you most watch. DISH Network, for example, is the only place where you can watch One Day International Cricket.
