XM + NHL = -$100m?
According to numerous sources, XM Radio has recently acquired the rights to broadcast NHL games to its 4.4 million listeners. The deal sweeps the NHL out from under Sirius, who until recently had the proverbial “hat trick” of the NHL, NBA, and MLB. XM reportedly paid $100 million for the broadcast rights. This leaves only one question. What exactly is this strange thing called the “NHL?”
$100 million for broadcast rights? For a little extra they could have just bought the whole damn company!
