Traffic Data Services for Sirius
Catching up with XM, Sirius Satellite Radio will broadcast traffic data for 22 metropolitan areas beginning in November, a service that XM has offered for a while now. Updated traffic information provided by NAVTEQ will be available for Atlanta, Baltimore, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Detroit, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, Minneapolis, New York, Orlando, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Pittsburgh, San Francisco, San Diego, San Jose, St. Louis, Tampa, and Washington D.C. To receive traffic data service, you’ll need to get the new SiriusConnect SIR-ALP10T tuner, which works together with Alpine’s NVE-N872A Satellite Traffic Ready navigation system, which run for $299.99 and $1,700 respectively.
