So, O.J., You’ve Decided to Steal DirecTV

Ex-football star, Naked Gun actor and acquitted murder suspect O.J. Simpson is back in hot water as DirecTV claims to have “overwhelming” evidence that Simpson was stealing the satellite provider’s signal. DirecTV won a court battle in which a Florida judge ordered O.J. to pay $25,000 for illegally receiving satellite signals, stemming from the 2001 recovery of two “bootloaders” found in O.J.’s house that make stealing satellite signals possible. O.J.’s lawyer says his client will appeal, as O.J. wasn’t living in the house at the time the bootloaders were found and there is “no evidence” that he knew the devices were illegal.

Police found the bootloaders in 2001 after searching in Simpson’s home while investigating of an ecstasy drug ring, money laundering, and counterfeiting of satellite equipment, for which Simpson was not arrested.
