New XM Portable to Play MP3s
Possibly taking a cue from Sirius’ attempt to integrate with iPod, XM has announced that a new Samsung device will be capable of streaming XM Satellite Radio as well as play MP3s. But don’t get too excited - you’ll need to put the player in a docking station in order to hear XM live. However, users can store XM content on the device for later, allowing them to listen to XM in places where the signal can’t reach, such as the subway. The unnamed XM MP3 player will be available for the holiday season, when XM plans to announce a fully-portable MP3 device.
