Globalstar Partners With Qualcomm
Globalstar has inked a $140 million deal with Qualcomm to produce next-generation satellite phones and data products over the next four years. In the agreement, Globalstar will receive an uninterrupted supply of satellite voice and data products, as well as continue to provide handsets and hardware to distributors, resellers, and personal users. Qualcomm has been in business with Globalstar for a while, producing the GSP 1600 handset, the GSP 2900 fixed phone, and the GSP-1620 duplex data modem.
