Internet service provider Earthlink and Covad, a leading provider of broadband voice and data communication, announced the start of a new Voice over IP joint market trial. This allows Earthlink to offer customers a low-cost combination of phone and high-speed internet services. Customers can sign up for this service using existing phone lines, wiring and computers as an affordable alternative to costly phone plans.
