Car Companies Offering Both XM & Sirius
Faced with the decision to offer either Sirius or XM Satellite Radio systems in their cars, some car companies today are letting their customers make the choice. Audi, Nissan, and Toyota all offer both radio services to new car buyers, hoping to win over customers who have a preference or an existing subscription to one service or the other. Subaru plans to join the trend, and Mitsubishi, who’s 2006 Eclipse model was already under production when satellite radio became popular, will offer Sirius. Sirius currently has 1.5 million subscribers and expects 2.7 million by year’s end, while XM has 3.8 million and expects 5.5 million in the same time frame.
