DIRECTV and DISH Network Compete for Ex-VOOM Customers
With the recent demise of VOOM HD satellite service, both DIRECTV and DISH Network have come up with their own ways to bring ex-VOOM customers their way. DIRECTV is offering a $200 rebate on their HD equipment to ex-VOOM subscribers, provided they can prove their subscription. On the other hand, DISH Network is taking control of 10 of VOOM’s HD networks, including RUSH HD, Gallery HD, Rave HD, Ultra HD, Equator HD, Monsters HD, Animania HD, Majestic HD, HD News, and Guy TV HD. The acquisition of VOOM’s channels puts DISH Network at the front of the HD competition.
